Care Danmark has submitted an alert on the floods in Vietnam. The DERF was not activated to the alerted crisis because of no availability of DERF funds. Since October, Central Vietnam has been struck by the worst storms since 1999. The disaster continues to unfold. As of 22nd November, floods and landslides directly affected 1.3 million people and claimed 130 human lives.
Call for applications for DERF to the following humanitarian crisis: Armed Conflict in northern Mozambique. Location: Cabe Delegado province. Partially also Nampula and Niassa provinces. Funding Modality: Applicants are to apply for the DERF Modality Rapid Response Deadline: Sunday 8-11-2020 at 23:45. The DERF allocates a total of up to DKK 2.400.000 for this Call.
SOS Børnebyerne has submitted an alert regarding the armed conflict in Mozambique. The DERF was activated for the alerted crisis. Since end of 2017, Cabo Delgado province has experienced constant terrorist attacks. The attacks are motivated due to the discovery and initial process of exploring gas and oil in the region.
OFROSOM has submitted an alert on the flash floods in Somalia. The DERF was not activated to the alerted crisis because of no avaialbility og DERF funds. Flash floods have affected over 250,000 people. Over 85 %of the displacement occurred in the two most affected regions in the Shabelle river basin.
Call for applications for DERF funding of emergency relief interventions responding to the following eligible humanitarian crisis: Floods in Niger Location(s): All regions of Niger DERF Funding Modality: Applicants are to apply for Rapid Response Deadline for submission: From 24-9-2020 until 8-10-2020 at 23:45. The DERF allocates a total of up to DKK 3.500.000 for this Call.
CARE has submitted an alert on the floods in Niger. The DERF was activated for the alterted crisis. On 20 August, the Niger River left its bed causing extensive damage and loss of life. Affected people have been moved to schools for shelter, thus increasing exposure to COVID-19, malaria, hygiene related diseases as well as GBV.
The DERF team wish to inform that the functions in the DERF management team have be shifted after Signe Allimadi left the team for following other work opportunities. Christoph Lodemann, who has been the assisting fund manager during the past has now taken the responsibilities of the DERF fund manager. The DERF management team therefore consists of Bolette Kornum and Christoph Lodemann.
Call for applications to the following crisis: Floods in Sudan. Location: All 18 states of Sudan. Funding Modality: Applicants are to apply for the DERF Funding Modality Rapid Response. Deadline: Applications are received and processed from 11.09.2020 until 1.10.2020 at 23:59. Funds allocated: A total of DKK 2.000.000 for the call with a ceiling of DKK 750.000 per application.
IAS have submitted an alert on the floods in Sudan. The DERF was activated to the alerted crisis. Torrential rains have caused flooding in Khartoum State destroying and damaging more than 500 homes, displacing people and creating new humanitarian needs. The situation is expected to get worse over the coming weeks, as above-average rains are forecast until the end of September.
CARE has submitted an alert on the flooding in Niger. The DERF was not activated to the alerted crisis. The Niger River left its bed in several places causing extensive damage and loss of life, destroying houses, rice paddies and vegetable gardens. The unmet need for food and non-food items remain important and even increasing.
Danish People's Aid has submitted an alert regarding the flooding in Afghanistan. The DERF was not activated for the alterted crisis. The flooding is just the latest blow for Afghanistan, which has been ravaged by the coronavirus and bloodied by Taliban attacks across the country. An increased number of fatalities and widespread damage has been reported in Afghanistan after heavy rain.
