20-009 R0 Floods in Kivu Province (Uvira +Baraka), DRC (Fund Not Activated)
The crisis is in DR Congo, in the province of South – Kivu, exactly in UVIRA town and BARAKA. These two towns are built besideTanganyika lake.
There are situated between the lake and the chain of montains called Mitumba Montains. Each town is made of three communes and several and several streets.
Over floating caused by a natural dam-broke due to the heavy rain. When the river at night broke through the dam caused by a big landslide in the mountains, the flood came down as a big wave destroying houses on its way through the town and leaving people without shelter.
