Flygtningebørn.dk has submitted an alert regarding emergency safe water and food access to populations in urgent need in Mykolaiv, Ukraine. The crisis is located in Mykolaiv oblast (region) in Ukraine where the Russian shelling has changed drastically to the worse. This city is now the focus of Russian bombardment in efforts to try and secure the city’s ports and ensure access to Odessa. The bombing is also targeting the water supply and latest 14th August another waterpipe was hit. The population has therefore no access to regular running water and for the first time WHO has now declared that Cholera and other water-borne diseases might be on the rise unless a better water situation can be provided (City Council). These recent intensifying attacks are exacerbating the severity and scale of humanitarian needs while its habitants are preparing for a possible siege of Mykolaiv.
