Invitation to Launch meetings of new DERF Guidelines

New Funding Guidelines for the Danish Emergency Relief Fund (DERF) coming into effect as of 19. August 2019 will be launched during meetings Monday the 19. August 2019 in Aarhus and Thursday the 22. August 2019 in Copenhagen.

The DERF has activated a call for applications for humanitarian interventions related to the humanitarian effects of the monsoon affecting huge number of people, including refugees from Myanmar in Bangladesh. Dear DERF grant holders and users, This is to hereby invite your organisation to provide final inputs to the current update of the Funding Guidelines of the Danish Emergency Relief Fund (DERF) which has been attached here. We hope you are able to invite your partner organisations to comment as well. The deadline for providing comments is Wednesday 22 May 2019 at 12:00 to DERF@cisu.dk.

ALERT: 19-009-RO Heavy rains and flooding Afghanistan (not activated)

In the past few years were many of the mentioned cities in Afghanistan hit by drought, but surprisingly since the beginning of the spring 2019 has most of the cities been affected by continuously rain.
Afghanistan has been extremely preoccupied with war and therefore you can almost not notice any infrastructure progress - neither in cities nor in the countryside.
Therefore the huge rain and

DERF is experiencing an overwhelming demand for support and has this year already received 9 humanitarian alerts leading to resources allocated for DERF being under heavy pressure. In order to ensure availability of funding for the full financial year DERF will until 1. July 2019 due to scarcity of resources have to carry out restrictive assessments of incoming alerts.
