In the past few years were many of the mentioned cities in Afghanistan hit by drought, but surprisingly since the beginning of the spring 2019 has most of the cities been affected by continuously rain.
Afghanistan has been extremely preoccupied with war and therefore you can almost not notice any infrastructure progress - neither in cities nor in the countryside.
Therefore the huge rain and
DERF is experiencing an overwhelming demand for support and has this year already received 9 humanitarian alerts leading to resources allocated for DERF being under heavy pressure. In order to ensure availability of funding for the full financial year DERF will until 1. July 2019 due to scarcity of resources have to carry out restrictive assessments of incoming alerts.

DERF has recieved alert regarding Food Insecurity Crisis Kenya from International Aid Services (IAS).
